Ministries

The ministries that exist at Highway 20 are there to help people CONNECT to Christ and to one another.  Paul instructed the leaders in the church in Ephesus that they were to  equip the church for the "work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ," that the whole body might be a "mature man...no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine...but speaking the truth in love," and that "we are to grow up in all aspects into Him."   The ministries at Highway 20 are tools so that "the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love." (Eph. 4:13-16) Ministries help people of all ages to connect in a relationship with Jesus Christ and to other believers that Christ's church might grow and be strong.  Get connected!

Men's

The Men's Ministry is dedicated to helping men to be the leaders in their home, the church, and their community.  We believe the only way to achieve this is through the study of God's Word and learning how and what God designed men to be.  We have a men's Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.  The Men's Ministry have various activities throughout the year that encourage men to connect, commit, and conform to a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Women's

As the church of Christ we always seek to grow in our faith.  The Women's Ministry is another ministry that is seeking to encourage women to be what desires them to be, not according to the world's standard, but according God's ordained standard.  Women have a very important role in the church and in the home and these are the virtues in which women should not feel guilty about but encouraged to press on in the faith.  The ladies have a weekly Bible study that meets every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

Youth

Building the youth of tomorrow involves investing and sacrificing our time, talent, and treasure in our youth of today.  And we believe they are worth every bit of the time that we invest in them.  Our youth group meetings on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. are energetic, fun, full of fellowship, and amply supplied with good teaching that the youth can apply to every day life.  We also have different youth group meetings (Home Invasions) periodically during the month at different homes of members of the congregation.  Along with weekly and monthly meetings there are various activities that the youth are involved in such as camps, concerts, snow trips and much more.

Children

One of the most rewarding parts of Children's Ministry is watching a child grow in the faith and begin to understand God's word.   Our Sunday school program and our worship service time for the young kids seeks to help them connect, commit, and conform to a relationship with Jesus Christ.  All the way from birth to 6th grade, we believe in educating kids to the glory of God, through various events and programs that are used as an avenue to accomplish this goal, we believe this to be the most important.

Sign Language

The Sign Language Ministry seeks to show the love of God through signing.  We are fellow Christians who have a heart for sign.  Meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 4:30pm, where we work together to increase our sign language skills.  Our group is at varying degrees of signing abilities.  In the future, our goal is to reach out to the deaf and hard of hearing in Sweet Home and the surrounding communities.  If you have a heart for signing, we invite you to join us as we equip ourselves to follow Jesus’ command “that we love one another.” John 13:34
